Their Precious Love—Elvis Presley & Priscilla Beaulieu
When Elvis was in Germany, a friend named Currie Grant, introduced him to the girl who would change his life. That girl was Priscilla Beaulieu. Elvis fell for Priscilla on that first night, and began a courtship that lasted eight years. After he left Germany, Elvis asked Priscilla’s dad to let her live at Graceland, with chaperones, of course. Her father agreed, expecting Elvis to marry his daughter soon afterwards. Six years later, Elvis proposed and on May I, 1967, they were married in Las Vegas. However,Elvis’s career took its toll on the marriage and in 1973, Priscilla and Elvis were divorced. But, his love for Priscilla lasted until the day he died.
Priscilla would dress to the hilt whenever she attended Elvis’s Las Vegas openings.
Horseback riding became a favorite sport of the Presleys. Elvis had a ranch in Miss.
Elvis and Priscilla were a beautiful couple, very much in love. “I waited for the right girl—and I found her in Priscilla,” said Elvis when asked why he waited so long to marry. He was 32.
Elvis and Priscilla were very happy in the early years of their marriage. They would spend hours walking around Graceland.
Priscilla often accompanied Elvis on concert tours to Las Vegas.
While Elvis was filming in Hollywood, Priscilla would remain at home in Memphis. She studied classes in grooming to keep busy.
Tom Jones was a good friend of the Presley family.
“What impressed me the most was that he made me feel like one of the gang,” Says Priscilla fondly.
Priscilla’s sister Michelle was her maid of honor while Joe Esposito and Marty Lacker served as Elvis’ best men, at their wedding.
Priscilla’s ring was a simple wedding band, but she had a three-carat engagement ring.

Romantic moments by the poolside were rare. Elvis’ career and constant touring put a strain on their marriage after a few years.
Their daughter Lisa Marie, born in 1968, was the love of their life. But even she couldn’t hold the marriage together.
The couple filed for divorce in ’73, but remained friends.
